MAIN MACHINES
2 Knurling machine
5 Plastic bar inserting device
7 CNC assemling unit
COMPLEMENTARY MACHINES
1 Loading roller conveyor
3 Unloading roller conveyor
4 Tray for polyamid bars support
6 Loading roller conveyor
8 Automatic unloading conveyor with single buffer
Perfect set-up for medium-sized companies!
3 Operators
THE THREE MAINS BENEFITS OF LAYOUT 42 CNC ARE:
Highly productive
This layout is highly productive and allows different processes to be carried out more quickly thanks to automation. It can produce up to 70 bars per hour!
Small number
of operators
With only two operators, this layout produces more output than Layout 40 or 41. The two large buffer conveyors eliminate the need for other additional operators.
Two large buffer
conveyors
Designed with two large buffer conveyors enabling the retention of a large number of bars at once, it allows reducing the total cycle of time as well as the workforce expenses.
LAYOUT DESCRIPTION
Layout 42 consists of three machines, which handle these three processes: knurling, strip insertion and rolling (or crimping). This arrangement of aluminum profile assembly machines with thermal break offers a productivity level of 70 bars of aluminum per hour, with only two operators. The difference with Layout 40 or 41 is that it is an excellent choice for the production of larger quantities.
To assemble a thermal break aluminum profile, two operators are enough for all these processes:
- A knurling machine for different aluminum profiles.
- An insertion machine for inserting polyamide strips into the aluminum profiles, thus providing thermal insulation.
- A crimping machine used for the rolling or crimping step to tighten the grooves of the aluminum profile on the polyamide strips, thus ensuring the quality of the final product.
Layout 42 is larger and requires more space; however, it is much more productive than the previous layouts (40 or 41). Its level of automation makes it an excellent choice whenever larger quantities are produced, as it can process up to 100 profiles in a row, with just two operators.
MAIN MACHINES INCLUDED IN THIS LAYOUT
1 – Knurling machine for aluminum extrusions
Easy knurling adjustments, automatic knurling and unloading of the first and second aluminum profile.
Depending on the customer’s request, the aluminum profile knurling machine can be either manual (AS-140-Z) or CNC automated (AS-142-Z). Despite their differences, these two machines can be easily integrated into the production setup.
Once the bars are placed in the knurling machine, they are unloaded into a retention conveyor, avoiding the need for an additional operator who would have to remove the bars. You can knurl the inner and the outer sides of your thermal break profile one after the other, until the retention buffer is fully loaded.
Our knurling machines offer great flexibility to process different aluminum profiles with different widths or shapes.
2 – Thermal break insertion machine
Easy, automatic and fast insertion of a polyamide strip in aluminum profile with safety stop
The thermal break insertion machine, which can be either manual (AS-242I) or the CNC insertion machine (AS-244I), depending on the customer’s request. This step starts as soon as the knurl retention conveyor is full.
In order to achieve the required level of thermal insulation, well-established polyamide insulation strips are required. Our insertion machine enables the exact positioning of a polyamide thermal break, thus ensuring the best thermal insulation.
3 – Crimping machine for polyamide strips
Profile guide for exceptional stability, output conveyor after crimping
The crimping of polyamide strips in aluminum profiles can be performed either manual (AS221GA) or by the CNC crimping machine (AS260GA or AS262GA), which allows profile switching in a few seconds. The wheels of the seamer apply sufficient force to the aluminum profiles to, mechanically, lock the two of them together with the polyamide strips into a single unit.
